Suitors For Ike Davis Are Dropping Fast

Don't look now, but at least two of the four teams reported to be interested in Ike Davis have dropped out of the race.  Bad news for the Mets who indicated heading into the Winter Meetings that there priority would be to trade Davis.

The first to fall was the Arizona Diamondbacks who have a backlog of shortstops, a position the Mets are desperate to fill.  ESPN's Adam Rubin reported the following this morning:
Next up was the Milwaukee Brewers, whom the Mets have been linked to multiple times this offseason. In this instance it was fellow blog Metsmerized who determined:
The only other team confirmed to have shown an interest in Ike Davis is the Tampa Bay Rays.  They too have been linked to the Mets several times this offseason and would appear to be a logical fit for Davis.  Nothing has been said this week about the two, but one this is certain, if the Mets hope to move Davis and resolve their uncertainty at first base, their options appear limited.
