The first to fall was the Arizona Diamondbacks who have a backlog of shortstops, a position the Mets are desperate to fill. ESPN's Adam Rubin reported the following this morning:
According to media friend, Mets and Diamondbacks met and did not find common ground.Next up was the Milwaukee Brewers, whom the Mets have been linked to multiple times this offseason. In this instance it was fellow blog Metsmerized who determined:

Talks with Brewers for Ike Davis are now dead. Team Exec told us they are now focusing their attention on Corey Hart. More later...The only other team confirmed to have shown an interest in Ike Davis is the Tampa Bay Rays. They too have been linked to the Mets several times this offseason and would appear to be a logical fit for Davis. Nothing has been said this week about the two, but one this is certain, if the Mets hope to move Davis and resolve their uncertainty at first base, their options appear limited.
