Mets Additions And Subtractions

Addition:
As originally reported here, the Mets yesterday added 30 year old journeyman catcher Taylor Teagarden on a minor league deal with an invitation to major league spring training.  Teagarden has appeared in the majors in each of the last six seasons, but has never been a regular feature.  He figures to be the starting catcher at AAA Las Vegas and could fill in if either Travis d'Arnaud or Anthony Recker succumb to injury.

Subtraction:
Resident ol' timer Scott Atchison has signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians, per a report by ESPN New York's Adam Rubin.  Atchison appeared in 51 games for the Mets in 2013, pitching to a 3-3 record and a 4.37 ERA.  He will be remembered most fondly as the source of many a Father Time joke on twitter, but is highly replaceable from a baseball standpoint.
