When the Mets match up against the Cardinals this afternoon at 1:10 pm, it will mark the first Grapefruit League appears of the spring for both David Wright and Daniel Murphy. In what was a calculated decision by the team's front office, both players have been held out to date in an effort to limit their chances of injury in spring training. Each has participated in team drills and simulated games already.
Anyone whose been a Mets fan for more than a few minutes knows that at least one will leave today's game hobbled. The universe would have it no other way, because Mets.
